To the Girl I Used to Be

Sweet little girl, I write to you

A letter that you’ll never read

Sweet little girl, I’d sing to you

But in truth, we will never meet

O, sweet, young, naive little girl

So stubborn and yet still so fickle

O, sweet, young, naive little girl

Wanting to be big, yet always so little

One day you might understand

Just how much you still don’t know

One day you might understand

To listen, learn and be thoughtful

Sweet little girl that I used to be

So sheltered and yet thinking not so

Sweet little girl I was supposed to be

One wrong move and I would’ve been her

Sweet little girl that I used to be

I write you a letter that you’ll never read

I ask that for once you will take the change

To change the understanding of your inner stance
